What an entry contains.
Everyone decides for themselves which fields other members can see. None of it ever leaves the protected area.

Short paths instead of a search engine.
If you have a question you write to the person who can answer it – not to a contact form. That saves half a day on both sides.
What the directory holds
For each person: name, house, role and the contact routes they have released themselves – work email, direct line, mobile number. Plus a profile photo if one was uploaded, and when the person was last active. Nothing more: no CV, no private addresses, no birthdays.
For each house: name, district, number of beds, website and the people who work there. That way you find the right contact even when all you know is which house it is about.
Who can see it
Only approved members, after logging in. The directory is closed to search engines, and without a login every address leading there comes up empty – including those for individual profiles and photos. Anyone leaving the network disappears along with their account.
Everyone decides in their own profile which fields others can see. If you only want to be reachable through the reception address, that is all you enter.
Why not an open industry directory?
Because there are enough of those and they all share one problem: the moment a hostel manager’s direct line is public, the caller is not the colleague from Kreuzberg but the twelfth channel-management vendor that week. The closed access is not exclusivity; it is the reason the numbers are in there at all.
